FR50 is a system component manufactured of fire-retardant, coated-glass fiber mats used to enhance the overall fire performance of a roof system. FR 50 incorporates a heavy-duty glass mat to improve fire performance in a single layer.
FR50 is specifically designed to be used over wood decks or certain combustible insulations. FR50, utilizing a heavy-duty mat, is specifically designed to achieve a superior fire rating with a minimum number of layers.
Atlas fire-retardant slipsheets are lightweight and easy to handle. No attachment is necessary. The patented coating usually provides enough weight to anchor the sheet until the membrane or insulation can be installed. Under windy conditions, attach with enough fasteners to prevent displacement. |

FR50 General Installation Applications
Atlas Fire-Retardant Slipsheets are lightweight, easy to handle and, therefore, quicker to install than gypsum or other thermal barrier boards. The slipsheet should be rolled out, overlapping the preceeding sheet a minimum of two (2) inches. Endlaps are also a two (2) inch minimum. Consult the membrane manufacturer for specific application recommendations (e.g., slipsheet roll direction perpendicular to membrane roll). Mechanical attachment of the slipsheet is not needed in most applications. The patented coating provides just enough weight to anchor the sheet until the membrane is installed. Token mechanical or adhesive attachment may be necessary under windy conditions. Install only as much slipsheet as can be covered by the end of the day.

Factory-applied packaging is intended soley for protection during transit. When stored outdoors or on the job site, the slipsheet rolls should be stacked on pallets at least four inches above ground level and completely covered with a weatherproof covering such as a tarpaulin.
